First, complete the online interest form (see below for form content). You will be contacted within 48 hours by one of our staff for a brief introductory conversation and next steps.
After you submit your application, your next step in the planter process is Assessment. You will be asked to complete several online assessments. CAP will gauge your initial readiness to become a Church Planter, based on criteria from the assessments and an interview with you and your spouse/fiancé.
Once the Assessment process is completed, you will be evaluated on your planting capacity, personal character, and marriage health (if married).

You and your spouse will learn a lot about your strengths and growth opportunities over these two days. In an environment of encouragement and support, experienced leaders will measure your church planting readiness in nine essential areas:
You are prepared for the next phase of the church planter pathway, which is to enter into CAP’s Church Planter Pathway Training.
There are several areas indicating you are not yet ready to move forward in the planting process at this time. A recommendation toward further development is likely. A development plan will be drawn up and given to you, along with a timeline for when you will be eligible for reassessment.
In some cases, the greatest gift that can be given to you is the honest appraisal that church planting with CAP is not your path in ministry. This transparency will save you from some painful and discouraging days. Of course, you do not have to adhere to this advice. Please hear God for yourself.
