It has been important for us in ministry to see and seize our God intended future for our ministry. God did something amazing when God connected us with CAP. When I first came, I was discouraged and ready to quit. The first words I heard upon entering the building from God was…” Do you still believe I can do this?” For years I felt alone in the journey. Fear paralyzed me. I heard God’s call and knew what God was pushing us to do. Yet the struggle was how to take the vision and give it voice. With the resources from CAP, the mentorship, and the prayers I can’t believe how far we have come. After all the sessions and contacts we are equipped and have placed all we have learned into action. I was asked to pastor a 163-year-old church that was dying because of the death of their Pastor, a church spilt, and no plan of succession. I connected with CAP and they walked with me into this process of resurrection and reconstruction. They conducted a church assessment and offered grief counseling for the membership and helped us establish organizational and operational plans. This sparked a rebirth that allowed the growth from a few members to a ministry that successfully sustains itself financially and is now debt-free, with restored credit. This all happened in approximately one year. I was fully embraced and accepted as a female pastor and am eternally grateful to Bishop Dale C. Bronner and CAP.
